Speech Therapy is the assessment and treatment of communication problems and speech disorders. It is performed by speech-language pathologists (SLPs), which are often referred to as speech therapists. Speech therapy is used to improve communication, address speech and help fix language problems so that patients are able to speak more clearly.
Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work to prevent, assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders for patients of all ages including individuals with autism spectrum disorder that have social communication problems.
