Please call us for more information at 718-806-1666 ext. 104
Respiratory Therapy is the evaluation and treatment of patients with both acute and chronic dysfunction of the cardiopulmonary system. A respiratory therapist (RT) is a certified medical professional who specializes in providing healthcare for your lungs, often utilizing high-tech equipment such as mechanical ventilators to provide the necessary treatment. RTs work alongside doctors and nurses, in many medical facilities, but are also able to provide care at home.
These specialists help improve outcomes for people with asthma, pneumonia, emphysema, lung trauma, and other diagnoses. RTs can assess your breathing, recommend exercises, and monitor your progress.
How to get it: A Respiratory Therapist (RT) can be available for a home visit through Effective Home Care with authorization by your PCP (Primary Care Physician). For more details please call our Patient Intake Department at 718-806-1666 x104.
